A recent survey looked at the cost and management of print among businesses, examining the attitudes of more than 3,000 individuals responsible for their organization’s print function.

In 72% of businesses, employees were unable to print at least once a month. The major reason for this was staff failing to report a printer malfunction. This was particularly prevalent with larger companies, with 43% of respondents from businesses with more than 250 employees claiming that staff is slow to report printer faults.

The bottom line - printer downtime is a very serious issue. In today’s economy, businesses can’t afford to ignore this issue. Cost-savings through streamlining and effective print management are now more important than ever.

The study also estimated that poor print management costs an average company more than $125,000 every year. For larger companies with more than 250 people, this figure may be as high as $950,000.
